Lee and Graham, I LOVE this show! You guys work together really well. Funny AND informative. Cervantes would give you guys a thumbs-up!
Please feel free to combine all three of these comments. Thank you.
I see no way to edit a comment, so in my previous comment please read “working class people” as “working class blacks, whites, and latinos/as”.
Graham, You said the “incarceration rate has gone down because some states have decriminalized marijuana”. But actually the rate went down after 2016 because in or about 2018 President Donald Trump actually started a program to release people who had been unfairly convicted. Let’s give the Trumpster his due props. He wasn’t all bad.
” President Donald Trump points to his ear and says, “Did I hear the word bipartisan?” as he announces his support for the First Step Act in the Roosevelt Room of the White House in Washington, Nov. 14, 2018. Andrew Harnik AP”
This program was estimated to effect the release of nearly one-third of the USA’s 180,000 prisoners. BTW, working class people know this. It is one of the reasons they believe in Trump.
